TERMINAL
We support the WisePad 3 terminal. A robust platform for taking contactless and card inserted payments.
We recommend having stock of at least 1 spare terminal to ensure no downtime in the unlikely event of a device failure.
| Pairing
CONNECTION
Use the 'more -> card reader' page to manage connecting to your card reader. Only a single card reader can be connected to a device at a time. You can 'forget' a card reader in the app at any time and connect to a different reader if you wish.
The app will automatically attempt to reconnect to a previously connected reader whenever you launch it/unlock it. Throughout the app we provide clear indication of the connection status.
If the app fails to pair with an existing card reader (maybe it was not nearby or turned on) then you can always initiate a re-connection attempt from the 'Card Reader' screen at any point.
| Switch on
BLUETOOTH
Without Bluetooth enabled, the app is unable to connect to your card reader. We will alert you in the app whenever your Bluetooth is turned off, just switch it back on to get back online. This is tied with the need to grant Bluetooth permissions in 'More -> Device Permissions' screen.
| Updates
SOFTWARE
Periodically your reader will need updating. Often this happens when you first receive it. These updates can sometimes take 5-10 minutes, if not longer.
Optional (not urgent) updates, can be triggered manually to begin in the 'Card Reader' screen at your convenience. Occasionally a more serious required update will come through which will be triggered automatically.
You will need to ensure the battery level on the reader is sufficient to initiate an update - the app will let you know if it's not.

STATUS
Like receipt printers, you can view the connection status for a card reader in the navigation rail on wider screens, giving you immediately feedback on the device status at any moment. Tap it to jump straight to the 'Card Reader' screen.
